Recipe for 5 gallons of Homebrew Bitter

This is the recipe for my stock bitter, which goes down a treat.

I've developed a 'recipe sheet' that I use to record not only the recipe but also how the brew went (mash temperature, sparge, boil etc); you can download an example (Microsoft Word) here.

 

MALT:

Pale Malt        3.5Kg
Crystal Malt    250g

Mash schedule:

  • 2.8g of water
  • pH 5.3
  • Temperature: 67°C
  • Duration: 1hr 15m

 

HOPS:Homebrew beer - hops

Bittering: 
Fuggles             10 IBUs (approx 30g)
Challenger         10 IBUs (approx 20g)

Late:                                         
Fuggles:            5g

YEAST:

Gervin English Ale Yeast
